About this work
Cain strikes his brother Abel dead with the jawbone of a donkey. Two altars are visible in the background. Cain's offering is rejected, the smoke goes down. Abel's offering is accepted by God. In the background, God appears as a beam of light from heaven to Cain. At the bottom, a reference to the biblical text in Gen. 4 in Latin. Print is part of an album.
