About this work
Adam and Eve find the body of their son Abel at the altar. He has been murdered by his brother Cain. Eve sits on her knees beside him with her hands in her hair. On the left, Adam sits wringing his hands on a stone. At the bottom, a reference to the biblical text in Gen. 4 in Latin. Print is part of an album.
