About this work
Christ heals a possessed man in the region of the Gerasenes. The unclean spirits leave the man through his mouth and enter a herd of pigs, which rush into the sea and drown. The disciples of Christ watch. In the background, the continuation of the story is depicted: the pig herders flee and tell the town what happened. The inhabitants then come to Christ and ask him to leave their region. On the left in the background, Christ departs in a boat, leaving the healed man behind on the pier. Below the image, a Latin reference to the biblical text in Matthew 8:28 and Mark 5:2. This print is part of an album.
