About this work

Christ heals a possessed man in the region of the Gerasenes. The unclean spirits leave the man through his mouth and run into a herd of pigs, which rush into the lake and drown. The disciples of Christ watch. In the background, the continuation of the story is depicted: the pig herders flee and tell in the town what has happened. Thereupon the inhabitants come to Christ and ask him to leave their area. On the left in the background, Christ departs in a boat and the healed man remains behind on the pier. Below the image, a reference in Latin to the biblical text in Mark 5. This print is part of an album.
