About this work
The evangelist Mark writes his gospel under a tree. Beside him the winged lion. On the left in the background the risen Christ at the opening of hell (the gaping mouth of the monster). On the right in the background the vision of the prophet Ezekiel of the valley of dry bones. The prophet looks up to God the Father. In the margin a four-line inscription, in two columns, in Latin.
