About this work

A console with the personification of the Virtuous Life (according to Ripa's Iconologia). A man with a halo as well as a wreath around his head and a coat of arms has with his spear killed a snake or dragon. The spear is broken. In his left hand the man has a book and under his feet lies a skull. The representation seems to be the victory of Christ over evil. The print is part of an album.
