About this work

Pedestal in the form of a cartouche. On it a medallion with on the front the portrait of Giovanni Barbarigo. He wears a grand cross around his neck. On the back Victory arms a trophy or sign of victory, consisting of captured weaponry. To the left of that a captive kneels. The pedestal is flanked by an armored man and woman. The man holds a banner with the lion of Saint Mark, the symbol of Venice. The other attributes concern honors after a military victory: a grand cross, a ceremonial helmet and a stola. The print is part of an album.
