About this work
The cold-water bathhouse of Chevrier was located against the north-western side of the Pont-Neuf in Paris. In the background in the middle stands the equestrian statue of Henry IV. In the foreground men are at work. With a separate etching plate Meryon had a poem printed below the representation: Eh oui! voila la LOI ... suprême BAIN-FROID.
