About this work

The cold-water bathhouse of Chevrier was located against the north-western side of the Pont-Neuf in Paris. In the background in the middle stands the equestrian statue of Henry IV. In the foreground men are at work. Above the representation stands in Meryon's handwriting an instruction for the printer that twenty-five copies may be printed from this example.
