About this work
The female personification of Envy (Invidia) sits in the company of a large dog and holds a heart in her hand which she is about to eat. Snakes writhe above her head. In the background stands a devilish beast on the right and fighting takes place on the left. The print has a one-line Latin inscription and is part of a series of prints on the seven deadly sins.
