Christ is seated at a table eating in the house of Simon the Pharisee. Mary Magdalene kneels on the ground, anoints his feet, and dries them with her hair. This print is part of a series on the eight Beatitudes of Christ and illustrates the Beatitude: Blessed are those who mourn. In the bottom right corner, this text from Matt. 5:4 in Latin.
