Christ sits at table eating in the house of Simon the Pharisee. Mary Magdalene kneels on the ground, anoints his feet, and dries them with her hair. This print is part of a series on the eight Beatitudes of Christ and illustrates the Beatitude: Blessed are those who mourn. In the lower right corner, this text from Matt. 5:4 in Latin.
