About this work
Daedalus and Icarus, father and son, escape from the island of Crete with wings attached to their shoulders with wax, enabling them to fly. However, Icarus flies too high, causing the sun to melt the wax. On the right, the fall of Icarus. In the sea, a sea monster swims. On the left in the foreground, Daedalus buries his son Icarus.
