About this work
Labour (Labor) is diligently at work, digging into the ground with a spade. His wife Diligence (Diligentia) watches, holding an hourglass. In the middle stand their two sons: Provisions (Victus) and Clothing (Amictus). Above their heads float respectively a cornucopia and an animal skin. Below the image is a four-line verse in Latin and two verses in French and Dutch in book type. This print is part of an album.
