About this work
Labor (Labor) is diligently at work, digging in the ground with a shovel. His wife Diligence (Vlijt) watches, holding an hourglass. In the middle stand their two sons: Provisions (Victus) and Clothing (Amictus). Above their heads float respectively a cornucopia and an animal skin. The print has a Latin inscription and is part of a series on the rewards of human labor.
