About this work
The deceased Pyramus lies by the fountain. He has stabbed himself with his sword because he thought Thisbe had been killed by a lion. Thisbe discovers her dying lover, whereupon she commits suicide with Pyramus's sword. By the pond the lion with Thisbe's cloak. In the background a river with a castle on rocks. Below the image is an explanatory text in Latin. This print is part of an album.
