About this work
The deceased Pyramus lies by the fountain. He has stabbed himself with his sword, thinking that Thisbe had been killed by a lion. Thisbe discovers her dying lover and commits suicide with Pyramus's sword. On the left in the background, the lion sits under a stone arch. Below the scene, an explanatory text in Latin. This print is part of an album.
