About this work
Chariot of Victory carrying Time (Tempus), depicted as a winged old man with crutches. At his feet stands an hourglass indicating the passage of time. His chariot, with clock faces as wheels, is pulled by swift deer. Time is accompanied by the four seasons. Buildings in the background have fallen into ruins. An obelisk erected to honor a powerful man has fallen from its pedestal. Thus Time conquers fame. Below the image is an explanatory text in Latin. This print is part of an album.
