About this work

King Solomon sits on his throne and delivers his judgment. Before the throne the two women who both claim motherhood of the living child. On the ground lies the dead child. Solomon orders the living baby to be cut in two to determine who is the mother of the child. A man draws his sword and grabs the child by the arm. Below the image a reference in Latin to the Biblical text in 1 Kings 3. This print is part of an album.
