About this work
King Jeroboam offers a sacrifice to an idol as a man of God from Judah appears. The man of God prophesies and announces the miracle that the altar will split and the ashes will fall to the ground. Jeroboam's outstretched arm stiffens as he gives the order to take the man of God prisoner. On the left in the background the end of the man of God is depicted. The man of God is killed by a lion and dragged from his donkey. Below the image a reference in Latin to the Biblical text in 1 Kings 13. This print is part of an album.
