Joseph's brothers kneel before Joseph

Ten of Joseph's brothers have come to Egypt to buy grain. Joseph, standing on the right with a scepter in his hand, accuses them of espionage. The brothers try to explain to Joseph, who does not recognize them as their brother, who they are. Joseph lets them go, but demands that they return with their youngest brother Benjamin. In the background a number of brothers are standing by the sacks of grain. In the far background they depart with their donkeys. Below the scene a reference in Latin to the biblical text in Gen. 42.
