About this work

The judges Samson and Samuel. Samson holds the skin of the lion in one hand and the jawbone of a donkey in the other. In the background in the landscape it can be seen how Samson kills a lion with his bare hands and carries the gates of Gaza above his head. Next to him stands the prophet Samuel. In the background Samuel anoints Saul as king. Below the scene explanatory texts in Latin. This print is part of an album.
