Behind Samuel the head of a cow is sacrificed. In the background to the left Samuel asks God for advice and in the background to the right David is fetched to appear before Samuel. In the margin a one-line inscription in Latin from 1 Sam. (incorrectly designated as 1 Kings on the print).
