Three scenes on one sheet. Top: Vertumnus and Pomona. Vertumnus approaches Pomona in the guise of an old woman. Next to Pomona a basket of fruit. Middle: Three Bacchantes, including his mother, tear Pentheus apart and attack him with vine branches. He is missing an arm. This was the punishment Bacchus inflicted on him because he refused to honor Bacchus. Bottom: Jupiter looks down from the clouds at Amor, who stands with an open book before an altar. To the right stands Venus beside her chariot.
