About this work
Two parts of The Tale of Ise (Ise monogatari). One part is closed so the title is legible; the other shows an image of a woman carried on the back of a man in tall grass. This is chapter 7, in which a runaway couple hides in the tall grass. The characters of the title represent the long months of the year 1810. With one poem.
