About this work
A flute-playing woman with wings and in Chinese clothing lands in a pine tree. This image refers to the story of The Feather Robe (Hagoromo), and appears in many East Asian countries. A Buddhist angel lands in a pine tree on the beach and takes off her wings. They are found by a fisherman and returned on the condition that the angel dances for him. She does so, and then flies back home with her wings. With poems by various poets.
