About this work
On a square in a city Christ is approached by a Canaanite woman. She kneels and begs him to heal her daughter. Although the apostles around Christ advise sending the woman away, Christ talks with the woman and praises her steadfast faith. Then he exclaims that her daughter is healed. (Matthew 15:21-28). The print shows the twelve apostles, Christ, Mary and Mary Magdalene and the adulterous woman. In the background a gate with relief. The print has an inscription with reference to a biblical passage.
