About this work
The prophet Elisha sees Elijah riding to heaven in a fiery chariot. Elijah's mantle falls down. In the background, Elisha tears his clothes as he can no longer see Elijah. Elijah's mantle lies next to him. Further in the background, Elisha strikes the water of the Jordan with Elijah's mantle, causing it to flow to the left and right so he can cross the river. Oval image in an ormolu frame. The print is part of an album.
