About this work

King Josiah destroys the temples dedicated to the pagan gods Astarte, Chemosh, and Milcom and smashes all the idols into pieces. Two men are pulling a large statue from its pedestal. Other men are smashing the temple with hammers. Below the scene, a reference in Latin to the biblical text in 2 Kings 23:14. Print is part of an album.
