About this work
King Josiah orders the destruction of the temples dedicated to the pagan gods Astarte, Chemosh, and Milcom, and the smashing of all idol images. Two men are pulling a large statue from its pedestal. Other men are smashing the temple with hammers. Below the scene is a Latin reference to the biblical text in 2 Kings 23:14. This print is part of an album.
