About this work

King Josiah has the temples dedicated to the pagan gods Astarte, Chemosh, and Milcom destroyed and all images of the idols smashed. Two men are pulling a large statue from its pedestal. Other men are smashing the temple with hammers. Below the depiction a reference in Latin to the biblical text in 2 Kings 23:14. This print is part of an album.
