Print album from the library of Jean de Poligny. At the front a World Chronicle, Cronica Cronicarum (1521), with descriptions and illustrations of world history from creation to the year 1521. Contains schematic representations of successive princes, popes, emperors, kings of France, England and Jerusalem, the dukes of Normandy, Brabant and the counts of Flanders and Hainault up to the year 1521. The chronicle consists of two parts. Part 1 contains world history from creation to the birth of Christ. Part 2 contains world history from the birth of Christ to 1521. Subsequently the album contains a hand-colored map by Abraham Ortelius. Subsequently fifty hand-colored prints by Johann Sadeler (I), Raphaël Sadeler (I), Adriaen Collaert and Philips Galle. These prints contain representations of: The history of the first people, the Apostles' Creed, The Four Elements, The Seven Planets, The Four Temperaments and The Eight Wonders of the World.
