About this work

Seventeenth-century print album with 8 series containing a total of 62 prints, bound in a parchment cover with gold stamping (recto: medallion with IHS and crucifix; verso: medallion with Madonna and child) and brass clasps. The album has a total of 70 leaves, of which 62 are prints, 1 handwritten index, and 7 blank leaves. The album is still completely intact, including a handwritten index, and contains the following series by Dutch and French printmakers, published by Dutch and French publishers: Angels (12); Seven theological and cardinal virtues (8); Martyrdom of the apostles (12); Acts of the apostles (12); History of Tobias and the angel (4); History of the Prodigal Son (4); History of Jacob and Esau (4); The history of Joseph and The milkmaid (6).
