About this work

The element water, personified by Venus as a water goddess. She is surrounded by water with various fish and sea creatures. In one hand she holds a compass, in the other a ship. Water flows from her breasts and from her hair. Water also flows from shells and urns around her. Below the image, a verse in Latin. This print is part of an album.
