About this work

Evening dress of tulle trimmed with ruffled strips edged with 'rouleaux' of satin. 'Coeffure' adorned with a double-knotted tulle ribbon by Mr. Mulot, pupil and successor of Mr. Guillaume. Further accessories: earrings, long gloves, fan, flat shoes with crossed straps and square toes. Figure in the same dress, seen from the back. The print is part of the fashion magazine Journal des Dames et des Modes, published by Pierre de la Mésangère, Paris, 1797-1839. Bound with Le Petit Courrier des Dames. 15 January 1827 to 20 March 1830. Incomplete.
