About this work

Standing woman dressed in a tulle japon trimmed with pleated strips edged with satin 'rouleaux'. 'Coeffure' trimmed with a double-knotted tulle ribbon by Mr Mulot, pupil and successor of Mr. Guillaume. Further accessories: earrings, long gloves, fan, flat shoes with crossed straps and square toes. Figure in the same japon, seen from the back. The print is part of the fashion magazine Journal des Dames et des Modes, published by Pierre de la Mésangère, Paris, 1797-1839.
