About this work
Two women, one seen from the back, dressed in mousseline 'canezous' trimmed with a 'bouillon' and tulle ruches. 'Cot-pali' japonnes trimmed with pleated strips of fabric with scalloped hems. 'Capotes' of 'gros de Naples' trimmed with ribbons and tulle ruches. Further accessories: fan, bracelet, belt(?), flat shoes with straps. The print is part of the fashion magazine Journal des Dames et des Modes, published by Pierre de la Mésangère, Paris, 1797-1839.
