In a cartouche, flanked by putti and decorated with printing equipment, Mercury stands with a book in his hand. Above the cartouche the coat of arms of Amsterdam with a scroll above it reading: Booksellers, Printers and Art Dealers Gilt. Below the cartouche the text: We the undersigned Magistrates (...) Actum Amsteldam. With a pen the name: Harmanus Veelwaart, plate printer filled in, and his date of birth: June 2, 1758. Dated 15 Octob. 1764 and signed by Petrus Schouten and Reinier Ottens.
