About this work
In the middle of a hall stands a man with a raised dagger against his chest. He is held back by a woman who grabs his shoulder. To the left, a man with raised arms walks away from the man with the dagger. In the background, figures with spears wait. Around the representation stand four small medallions with battle scenes. The whole is crowned with the city coat of arms of Amersfoort, flanked by two trumpeting angels.
