About this work
Woman of status, walking in the countryside in a white morning japon or 'deshabillé'. The 'demi-polonaise' consists of a bodice and a shoulder mantle with hood and a skirt with small queue. Straw hat with ribbons and flowers to protect the face from the sun. Heeled shoes and rosettes. Further accessories: collerette, long gloves, bracelet, fan, walking stick. Print from series G. 7e Cahier des Costumes Français, 1re Suite d'Habillemens de Femmes à la mode, Gallerie des Modes et Costumes Français.
