About this work

Woman, seen from the back, dressed in a 'robe du jour' with a train. Trimmed at the hem with a zig-zag motif. 'Fichu Suisse'. Accessories: elegant hat adorned with feathers, fan, low shoes with pointed toes. According to the caption, she is walking in the 'Jardins de Marboeuf'. The print is part of a series of at least 82 fashion prints, Collection consacrée aux Modes d'hommes et de femmes, published by Basset, Paris, between 1783 and 1813.
