About this work

Woman dressed in a skirt with a train. Over her shoulders a transparent long spotted scarf. On her head a 'chapeau a la Pallas', adorned with an aigrette. Flat shoe with a bow and pointed toe. In her left hand a flower. According to the caption, she is walking through the 'Jardins de l'Elisée'. The print is part of a series of at least 82 fashion prints, Collection consacrée aux Modes d'hommes et de femmes, published by Basset, Paris, between 1783 and 1813.
