The accompanying text states: Top left: tulle cap, 'à la Jannette'. Fichu of 'gaze d'Italie', 'à la Henri IV', fastened with a pink ribbon. Skirt of green satin or 'satin gros vert'. The earrings are 'plaquettes'. Top right: hat 'à la Marlborough', adorned with two white feathers and one purple feather; trimmed with blue ribbons. Fichu of 'gaze d'Italie', 'à la Henri IV'. Skirt of pink satin. Bottom left: Cap 'à la Figaro' of 'gaze d'Italie', adorned with a white and purple feather and in the center a band of black velvet trimmed with white pearls. The earrings are smooth rings. Fichu of plain tulle. Skirt of blue satin, tied with a wide purple ribbon trimmed with white. Bottom right: hat of 'jonc' ('jonc de mer' or sea grass?), around the crown a wide purple ribbon forming a bow at the front and back. Fichu of plain linen, 'à la Henri IV'. Skirt of purple satin.
