About this work

'Capote' of yellow crêpe, trimmed with black ribbon. Triangular bag: 'Sac Falbalassé'. Small shoulder cape with long slip over a gown with long sleeves and train. According to the caption, this representation was drawn from life on the 'Champs Élysées'. The print is part of the fashion magazine Journal des Dames et des Modes, published by Sellèque, Paris, 1797-1839.
