About this work
Woman walking to the right, dressed in a long-sleeved gown with a small train: 'Robe à l'Esclave'. With her right hand she lifts the skirt. On her head a hat: 'chapeau à la Caroline'. Further accessories: long shawl around the left shoulder, flat shoes with pointed toes and crossed straps. The print is part of a series of 142 fashion prints, of which 115 have been identified, published by J. Chéreau, Paris, 1799-1810.
