About this work

A man and a woman on a balcony. He wears a redingote on a pair of breeches. Strapped black neckerchief. Shirt with ruffled jabot. Tall hat and walking stick in his hands. She wears a 'robe de ville' and a light blue bonnet with striped bow ribbons. Scarf around the arm. According to the inscription: hat of 'poult de soie' from Seiller. 'Robe de ville' executed in the manner of Henry. Redingote of merino wool decorated with satin, from the workshops of Lacroix. Print from the fashion magazine Paris Élégant (1836-1881).
