Actor Arashi Rikan II in the role of Matsuemon (Higuchi Jirô Matsuemon), with bare feet in a pine tree. In the background are army flags. Scene from the play 'Hiragana seisuiki', performed at the Naka Theater in the fifth month of 1834.
