About this work
Standing man dressed in a rhingrave costume, consisting of a short doublet (innocent), rectangular ruff with points, shirt, wide breeches with ribbons on both sides and stockings. Around the shoulders and arms a wide cloak is draped. Hat with wide floppy brim on the long wig. Flat shoes. This print is the 5th state of number 18, and belongs to a series of approx. 24 costume prints, from Figures a la mode dédiées a Mr Le Duc de Bourgogne, published by Etienne Jeaurat, Paris, approx. 1685.
