About this work
Two types of caps. On the left, a cap (pouf) of tulle, decorated with feathers, flowers, and a wide ribbon; on the right, a striped cap (pouf) of tulle, decorated with flowers and a branch (right). The print is part of the 12th Cahier, 2nd year, from the series Magasin des Modes Nouvelles Françaises et Anglaises. The series consists of 172 fashion prints, published by Buisson, Paris, 20 November 1786 – 21 December 1789. The figures are taken from The Fashionable Magazine, London 1787.
