About this work

Standing woman, seen from the back, with a round cap with a very small pom-pom, fastened with a black velvet band. She wears a japon of striped 'Peckini'. Around her shoulders a fichu or scarf: 'Fichu - Schall'. In the left hand a handkerchief. The print is part of the fashion magazine Journal des Dames et des Modes, published by Sellèque, Paris, 1797-1839.
